In celebration of National Bike Month, SANDAG invites the community to participate in Bike Anywhere Day from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 15. SANDAG has hosted the annual biking event in the region for more than 30 years as an opportunity to encourage more people to explore the more than 1,800 miles of bikeways in the San Diego region. Bike Anywhere Day aims to alleviate traffic and reduce air pollution while promoting biking as a fun, sustainable and healthy transportation choice, according to a news release.
Participants pedaling to work, school or anywhere can ride into 100 pit stops across the region to pick up a free commemorative Bike Anywhere Day 2025 t-shirt, while supplies last. Local companies are hosting the pit stops, supporting riders with fresh fruit, snacks, water, coffee, giveways and more.

The 56 bike path at Tang Drive near Carmel Creek Road, hosted by Jimbo’s and Gear Hugger with Carmel Valley companies Tandem Diabetes and Parametrix
The corner of Camino Del Sur and 56 bike path, hosted by Intuit
Sorrento Valley Coaster Station at 11170 Sorrento Valley Road hosted by Cycle Quest and 91X
Stop in style at L’Auberge Del Mar in the Del Mar Village, 1540 Camino Del Mar
101 S Highway 101 in Solana Beach, hosted by San Diego Electric Bike and Hospice by the Sea
136 S. Solana Hills Drive in Solana Beach hosted by Club Pilates near the North Coast Bike Trail that connects Solana Beach to Encinitas
SANDAG will be celebrating National Bike Month throughout the month of May with group bike rides and activities like a bike rodeo at the city of Encinitas’ Cyclovia. For Cyclovia on Sunday, May 18, S. Coast Highway 101 will be closed to cars from D to J Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., allowing riders to explore downtown Encinitas, check out educational booths and activities like the bike rodeo and a bike skills course/pump track.
