Fraud, West Oviatt Road
On Feb. 25 the Bay Food Mart owner reported a fraud. Two Bay Village residents were instructed by scammers to deposit money into BitCoin. Thankfully, the owner understood that this was a scam and called the police to report the incidents. Bay Village Detectives are investigating.
Reckless, Lake Road
On Feb. 27 a concerned driver reported a reckless driver near Columbia Road. The caller gave officers the make and model of the suspected car, stating it was passing cars and tailgating.
Officer found the car parked at the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center. Contact was made with the driver who was advised of the complaint.
Suspicious, Dover Center Road
On Feb. 27 officers requested mutual aid from Westlake to look for a man walking with a rifle northbound on Dover Center Road from Detroit Road. The officers arrived near Dover Center Road at the railroad tracks and saw a man matching the description. The man was cooperative with the officers and was found carrying an umbrella with him. The man was advised of the complaint and sent on his way.
